Below are three missionary prayers. One is a prayer for the new evangelization, one is a general prayer for missionary vocations, and the last is a personal prayer for missionary vocations. Please, continue to remember us in your prayers.
Prayer for the New Evangelization
God our Father, You called us each by name and gave Your only Son to redeem us. In Your faithfulness, You sent the Holy Spirit to complete the mission of Jesus among us.
Open our hearts to Jesus. Give us the courage to speak His name to those who are close to us and the generosity to share His love with those who are far away.
We pray that every person throughout the world be invited to know and love Jesus as Savior and Redeemer. May they come to know His unsurpassing love. May that love transform every element of our society.
We make this prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us. St. Joseph, pray for us. Amen.
General Prayer for Missionary Vocations
Jesus, as you did with your first apostles, stir up today in the hearts of young men a burning desire to be missionary priests.
Bless those who accept your call with a persevering faith, joy, and courage. Grant that some may become Scarboro priests.
Help us to support fully those who join us that they may become outstanding servants and heralds of your Gospel. We ask this in your name, our Shepherd and Guide. Amen.
Personal Prayer for Missionary Vocation
Jesus, you said to your first disciples, "Come, follow me," and they became your apostles to the world. Guide me as I journey these days to discern more clearly your call in my life.
Enlighten my inner being, that I know myself better and have the courage to respond to you wholeheartedly.
Support my steps along this path toward a possible future as a missionary priest. Help me to pray and to listen attentively to your response. Amen.
