{"id":6390,"date":"2018-01-01T11:08:31","date_gmt":"2018-01-01T16:08:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scarboromissions.ca\/?p=6390"},"modified":"2019-01-29T15:55:15","modified_gmt":"2019-01-29T20:55:15","slug":"justice-peace-and-integrity-of-creation-news-january-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scarboromissions.ca\/news\/justice-peace-and-integrity-of-creation-news-january-2018","title":{"rendered":"Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Scarboro Missions JPIC Office closes after 37 years<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>At the end of December 2017 the JPIC Office was closed as part of Scarboro Missions\u2019 process of transition.\u00a0 You are invited to read about the history of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scarboromissions.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/JPO-JPIC_pp104-113.pdf\">JPO\/JPIC Office<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scarboromissions.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/2018-anniversary-issue.pdf\">final issue<\/a>\u00a0of <em>Scarboro Missions<\/em> magazine, which was published in September 2018 and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Scarboro Foreign Mission Society.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2018 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithcommongood.org\/team#open-karen_van_loon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karen Van Loon<\/a>, coordinator of the JPIC Office since 1999, began work with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithcommongood.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faith &amp; the Common Good<\/a> (FCG) coordinating their new program,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithcommongood.org\/cultivating_care_for_our_common_home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Cultivating Care for Our Common Home<\/em><\/a>\u00a0for Catholic parishes or groups in Toronto who would like to explore and respond more deeply to Pope Francis\u2019 call to care for our common home.\u00a0 She may be contacted at <a href=\"mailto:kvanloon@faithcommongood.org\">kvanloon@faithcommongood.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Starting in 2018 Fr.
